While always a coffee drinker I recently got into the proper coffee scene (thanks James Hoffman!), and wanted a best bang-for-my-buck approach. Freshly grinding your coffee is the first place to start so naturally I sought out a quality grinder. Electric ones I find are too noisy so I settled on a hand grinder.
The Timemore C2 foldable coffee grinder has proven to be a very capable workhorse, freshly grinding beans every (work) day for the past year. While not a true bladed bur grinder the quality of grind is respectable with a wide range of adjustment, from coarse to fine to suit filter, pour over, to espresso. The hopper half can hold around 20 grams of beans, which I find is sufficient for 2-3 cups of coffee from a cafetiere.
The build quality is impressive being a full aluminium and all metal handle. The bearings are very smooth and solid to this day with no wobble, while the foldable handle mechanism which at first I considered a bit of a gimmick is very handy for reducing cupboard space.
Overall I’m still very happy with the performance of this grinder.
