Before starting the review of this chair its probably worth highlighting my typical usage for context. I work from my home office 8 hours a day and enjoy gaming on my home gaming PC, both of which are situated at the same desk. I therefore find myself sat at the desk for most of the day with low level chronic back pain, especially in the lower back.
With that scene set, I bought the Efomao heavy duty chair to try to relieve the aforementioned back pain, hoping that the extra thick padding and outsized dimensions might bring some relief. I used to use an Orange Box task chair which seemed suited to less heavy duty use.
The good news is that by and large the chair is comfortable and solidly built. The padding is thick and hasn’t yet begun to compress under constant usage (I’m 6 foot and probably 100Kg). While not quite the “armchair on wheels” experience I was hoping for, it is comfortable enough to have relieved some back pain especially when reclining and using the included pillow for support.
The build quality is definitely better than your usual cheapo office chairs – base and arms are chromed metal tubing and all parts bolt together cleanly with no wobble or give.
For me on LongtermReviewer, two months use isn’t really that much to assess how it performs, but I will keep this article updated periodically. So far I would recommend.
Note for potential buyers – the sellers seem to be operating a kind of “reward for review” system, offering money back for good reviews with pictures, so be aware when you see the many 5 star reviews on Amazon. The chair is perfectly good so far and I have no problem recommending it, but I can’t give a higher rating due to this practice.
